« 5 DayJams MP3 Picks for October »
Friday, October 9, 2009 at 9:21AM Every year it amazes me what great songs the bands from all our locations come up with. I look forward to receiving the recordings of the concerts and listening to the different music styles. I am totally blown away year after year by the bands accomplishments within a week. I have many favorites and here are a couple you should check out.
Just go to dayjams.com/music.php
Manhattan
"Ou Est Ma Memoire" by Umbilical Chord
The singer is from France and has a magnificent voice. The song is catchy and just fun to listen to. Even if I don't understand french.
Rockville
"Hi Courtney" by Obtuse Caboose
Whimsical song about a texting teen and a crush. I wonder if Courtney was written about anyone in particular. I'm sure the writer will never tell the secret. I'll always wonder....
San Francisco
"Shutter Shades and Ocean Waves" by Petals Run Out.
Lyrics and keys were written by Maurine Pietila. What's different about it? Just that it's unusual for DayJams songs to be dominated by keys and vocals and it's poppy rather than rocky. AND the entire band does such a great job together. Listen to the entire song and you'll see how beautifully it's woven.
San Diego
"Way of Life"
Rock out tune. Vocals are strong and Lyrics kick it.
San Diego
"Tell me Why"
This tune has some killer keyboards and again is rocking heavy.
San Diego
"Understand"
The drums in this song are awesome! This band is very authentic and strong. You really get to understand what they are singing about.
Well, we hope you enjoy these few tracks like we did. Please feel free to let us know your favorites and why. We would like to feature a few tracks in each newsletter.
